Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves
Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves, formerly called Kataka Caves or Cuttack caves, are partly natural and artificial caves of archaeological, historical, and religious importance near Bhubaneswar in Odisha, India. The caves are situated on two adjacent hills, Udayagiri and Khandagiri, which are mentioned as Kumari Parvata in the Hathigumpha inscription. Several finely and ornately carved caves were built during the 2nd century BCE. It is believed that most of these caves were carved out as residential blocks for Jaina monks during the reign of King Kharavela. Udayagiri means "Sunrise Hill" and has 18 caves, while Khandagiri has 15 caves.
The caves of Udayagiri and Khandagiri, called lena or leṇa in the inscriptions, were dug out mainly during the reign of Kharavela for the abode of Jaina ascetics. The most important of this group is Ranigumpha in Udayagiri, a double-storeyed monastery. Other important caves include Hathi gumph, Ananta gumph, Ganesha gumph, Jaya Vijaya gumph, Mancapuri gumph, Bagha/Byaghra/Vyaghra gumph, and Sarpa gumph.

ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL GROUP ON GOVERNANCE, FRAUD, ETHICS, SUSTAINABILITY AND CORPORATE REPORTING
The International Group on Governance, Fraud, Ethics, and CSR was founded by Prof. Dr. Kıymet Tunca Çalıyurt following the successful “1st International Conference on Governance, Fraud, Ethics, and CSR,” which was held at the Balkan Congress Hall, Trakya University, Edirne, in 2009.
IGonGFESR changed its group and conference names in 2023, after the COVID-19 pandemic, to “International Group on Governance Fraud Ethics Sustainability and Corporate Reporting” (IGonGFES&CR) and “International Conference on Governance Fraud Ethics Sustainability and Corporate Reporting”. (IConGFES&CR)
Since 2009, as the conference organising committee, we have organised the IConGFES&SR series at universities across multiple countries.

Opening Speech by Prof Dr Peter Eigen
In 1993, Peter Eigen founded Transparency International (TI), a non-governmental organisation that promotes transparency and accountability in international development. Dr Eigen was Chairman of TI from 1993 to 2005 and is now Chairman of the TI Advisory Board. During this time, he founded the Partnership for Transparency Funds and is still on its board today. In 2005, Eigen was Chairman of the Founding Committee of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) and from 2006-2011 Chairman of the EITI International Board.
Prof Eigen has taught law and politics at the Universities of Frankfurt / M, Harvard, SAIS / Johns Hopkins, University of Washington and the Bruges College of Europe Law and Political Science. From 2002 to 2014, he taught political science at the Free University of Berlin. In 2000, he received an honorary doctorate from the Open University, UK. In 2004 he received the Readers Digest Award "European of the Year 2004" and in 2007 the Gustav Heinemann Citizen's Prize. In recognition of his efforts to combat corruption at a global level, Dr Eigen was awarded the Grand Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in January 2013.
